Daily Duties at American Healthways:
I wrote PL/SQL applications to process healthcare data received from multiple insurance agencies to perform disease management. The data included plan membership, claims both medical and RX and medical provider information. The applications I maintained take the data submitted by the insurance agency and determines which members are eligibly for a disease management program the agency has purchased from American Healthways. The determination is made by processing the medical and RX claims through a set of business rules agreed upon by the agency and American Healthways. The application determines if the date of service is within an exceptible range to place the member in a particular disease management program. Another of my duties was to transfer data from flat file received from insurance agencies into client determined database tables for processing. This transfer of data was done using Informatica.
