Daily Duties at Fluor:

1) SCADA / Telecommunications Systems Engineer for a detailed design engineering project for a sour gas process plant expansion with responsibilities for three sour gas supply pipelines, instrumentation/control systems, SCADA and VSAT / fiber optic communications. Also responsible for in-plant telecommunications data LAN fiber optic network expansion, internal / external telephone system expansion of existing PABX system (NEC), handheld and vehicular mobile radio system expansion (Ericsson), public address system expansion (Spector-Lumenex) and CCTV process and security monitoring (Bosch). Responsibilities included existing Serck SCADA dual master station sites expansion at Maqta and Habshan, interface requirements to Honeywell/ABB Bailey DCS, and Triconex ESD systems. 2) Front End Engineering Design (FEED) responsibility for SCADA, pipeline leak detection, inline ultrasonic flow metering, telecommunications (RF) and instrumentation/control systems for Das Island processing plant, 220 Km, 24” dense phase sour gas pipeline with six onshore pipeline block valves, and onshore NGL processing facilities at Habshan. He conducted a site survey to determine interface requirements to existing Serck SCADA and Honeywell / ABB Bailey DCS systems. Telecommunications responsibility included in-plant fiber optic network for control systems and plant-wide data processing, VSAT, Internal/external telephones (Ex & IS) /PABX / intercom system, and CCTV and mobile radio systems at Das Island and Habshan. He established pipeline leak detection philosophy that was based on acoustic systems hardware and transient modeling software-based systems utilizing API 1155 performance criteria methodology. Participated in Das Island, pipeline, and Habshan facilities HAZOP studies.
