Reported to the Chairman and CEO of Blue Cross, Director of Communications, and Senior Vice President of Finance. • Researched and wrote 20 major speeches and presentations for the Chairman of Blue Cross addressing managed care and U.S. health care policy. • Researched and interpreted managed care trends for the Chairman of Blue Cross. • Analyzed statistics from Federal, State, and local government for use in policy briefs. • Designed and wrote the 1991 Annual Report for Blue Cross of California and its key operations. • Coordinated and monitored the budget/strategic planning process for Government and Individual subsidiaries (Revenues: $4.7 billion) • Prepared financial presentations for the Board of Directors under the direction of the SVP of Finance and the Chairman of Blue Cross • Coordinated teams of external consultants while working to restructure the organization for growth and expansion leading to the creation of Wellpoint Corporation • Provided the financial and budgeting expertise necessary in the creation of the CaliforniaCare Health Maintenance Organization
