Daily Duties at Horace Mann Ins Companies:

1 Directed and controlled file creation, analysis, investigation, reserving, and reporting for ten States. Led in the disposition of all litigated, extra contractual, and reinsurance claims for the ten states. 2 Evaluated and summarized all claims in excess of office authority and submitted cost effective recommendations to Home Office Claim Committee. 3 Monitored and controlled the commerical & residentail property & litigation monthly budget. Initiated corrective action when necessary, to ensure our organization was functioning in a fiscally responsible manner. 4 Facilitated training programs designed to ensure employees had the tools they needed to legally and ethically conduct claims handling in all states; adhering to the best claim practices possible and standards. .Gave training classes to the adjusters, agents over the police and claims handling along with methods of reconstructing building and tool and time to complete job.. 5 Reviewed and helped investigate claims on the commerical mechanical and electrical breakdowns and boiler failures. Examined each claim before okay to pay given. Hired special investiagative sources to confirm the cause of the loss to give coveraged or deny as per the policy and facts on the loss. Contacted underwriting to add or remove coverages as needed.  6 Created a Loss Control and Risk Management Program for reinspecting commerical and residential properties for insurability, safety and hazards. We utilized this program to ensure corrections were made before renewing or creating new polices through the company.
