Daily Duties at University Of Utah:

Help Desk and Computer Operator Member of group responsible for running the help desk for patrons & staff of the Marriott Library, providing help in diagnosing hardware & software problems, & training users. Edit Operations Manual The original manual had many loose notes and was not easy to find needed information. I divided the manual into major sections, put the available information in the sequence most used. The manual can now be updated easily as the system evolves. Converted OFF-LOAD procedure from using reel-reel tape to using cartridge tapes; this reduced operator effort, and increased efficiency. Combined two control centers by moving equipment from office to control room, allowing system operator to monitor two systems from one location, increasing operator effectiveness.
