Daily Duties at Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation:

 Display strong leadership skills through management-level experience working in a non-profit organization, preferably in an environmental or historic-preservation organization.  Be able to work independently, while engendering a cooperative spirit with the Board of Directors and other members of a small staff.  Be an excellent communicator—in speech and writing—in order to clearly, accurately, and succinctly express RBRC’s mission to partner organizations, major donors and sponsors, members, and the environmental community.  Be able and willing to lead RBRC’s fund-raising initiatives, demonstrated through previous fund-raising experience. The Board of Directors accepts its responsibility in this regard, but it will rely on the CEO for initiative, support, and fund-raising success.  Display a strong commitment to RBRC’s mission, preferably through association with and/or experience in the environmental arena.  Be a creative problem solver, willing to work with RBRC’s partners to accomplish the mission of recycling rechargeable batteries and cellular phones.  Possess an “entrepreneurial spirit” to explore new and creative programs and revenue streams and services to partners and members. Specific Duties Administrative and Financial Management:  Manage staff and operations of the RBRC office in Atlanta, GA.  Plan the annual budget and manage RBRC fiscal operations.  Provide regular communications and reports to the Board of Directors.  Prepare an annual report.  Lead, in cooperation with the Board of Directors, the design and implementation of the fund-raising programs.  Work with an accountant and/or auditor on a routine basis. Assure that tax, financial, and other official corporation documents are properly submitted and filed. Maintain RBRC’s state and federal non-profit status.  Hire and manage all staff, including outside contractors and volunteers, and prepare and maintain the personnel policies.  Organize all meetings of the Board of Directors and standing committees.  Assist Board and committees, as requested, in fund-raising work, staffing plans, preparing reports, conducting research, and providing requested information.  Represent staff at all Board and committee meetings.  Report to Chairman of the Board and Board of Directors. Policy And Program Development:  Work with the Board of Directors to establish priorities for projects and programs to fulfill, in the most effective manner, the organization’s goals.  Design and supervise the execution of the annual work plans that implement RBRC’s strategic plan. Public Relations, Outreach, and Education:  Represent RBRC through speaking engagements and at public events.  Be responsible for oversight of educational materials, including speakers, educational and promotional materials, and the organization’s website.
