Daily Duties at Self Employed :

While performing duties Loan Processing, underwriting review & clearing of conditions, resulting in borrowers knowing that they have purchased a secure property. The difficulty factor came in that these were new construction homes, each item had to be signed off on by the borrower and builder; all invoices had to be accounted for, so that no contractors could file a claim on the property for not being paid. This helped the company eliminate the need for additional legal time in looking over the documents and charging additional fees, therefore boosting the bottom line. As a Due Diligence Underwriter I analyzed risk on the proposed purchase of closed mortgage portfolios for investors. The analysis performed focused on the origination of the loan to determine if the loan was closed within the original lender’s guidelines and met other industry regulations as well as analyzing the payment history and current financial information on the borrowers involved in non-performing mortgages in order to suggest to the investor the best loss mitigation option to turn a non-performing mortgage into a performing one. This analysis allowed the investor to determine if the mortgages being purchase were within acceptable risk tolerances prior to purchasing the mortgages
