Daily Duties at Vantec World Transport:
Initiated new projects for member event management, reviewing clients' event activities, instructor performan ranking on event promotion, integrating accounting system and creating sales/performance analysis reports. I finished the project and migrated existing event information from old stand-alone system, eliminating a lot of tasks which originally needed to be completed manually, improving centralization of business information. Helped with consultant on external website integrating with E-commerce, facilitating the convenience for subscribing services and non-merchandise purchasing. The project eliminated unnecessary man-powers to deal with processes on non-merchandise transaction at front desk. Incorporated ASP.NET technologies to the current web environment, and maintained existing web applications using C#, PHP and Classic ASP, creating more stored procedures to improve performance of system and prevent from SQL injection issue, eliminated embedded T-SQL statements on the code. Crated new modules and reports from users' request via management decision. Increased the accuracy of business information and functionalities of original design, creating more flexibilities on data entry and data browsing, creating more queries and reports according to requirements of different viewpoints. Implemented DTS package process and created scheduled window host scripts files for daily routine information update. Vantec World Transport, Torrance, California 2006 – 2008 Web Developer Accountable for system design, analysis, and implementation for corporate web site. Maintain and develop new and existing applications in support of FTP, DTS, and EDI processing. Interact with diverse personnel to define system requirements. Perform database management, stored procedure scripting, Windows host shell process and DTS job scripting. Serve as technical liaison; provide expertise and recommendations to quickly resolve technical issues. Key Contributions: Initiated Sales Lead/Routing Orders for worldwide transportation service, make transportation service provider, in-house salespersons and buyer possible to review status of each transaction at the same time, and management can reivew the performance of salespersons from query and analysis report. All report can be generate to PDF files, Excel format documents or XML document and routed to buyer and salesperson or branch offices worldwide, via e-mail or review form web browser. I created the project use ASP.NET technologies, C# language from the scratch, running on SQL server environment. Created EDI process management, retrieving the purchase orders from VAN service or clients' FTP server, updating the status of inventory on the back-end SQL server, transforming the PO into sales orders, also generated the outgoing invoice batch, when the freight is ready to go. Routed the outgoing invoice documents and advance shipment notice document to VAN service or clients' FTP server via DTS process or web application modules automating the routing process. Create new modules from clients' requirements regarding inventory management, warehouse status query and reports on sales cost and profit analysis, Increased the accuracy of inventory information. Initiated compact inventory management web application on the portable data terminal using classic ASP technologies, which help warehouse staffs process inventory movement, any inventory movement can be processed real-time. The system include status query on inventory and analysis report, so staffs at warehouse and accounting department can always have accurate information for their inventory stocks. Process customer service support on phone and on-line support via e-mail system
