Daily Duties at American Express:
*Entrusted with reviewing monthly results and providing management with an assessment of risks & opportunities to the monthly forecast/budget for over 20 Card Services businesses. Held monthly review meetings to discuss forecast trends and major budget risks with the department president, VP’s and Directors. *Entrusted with overseeing and reviewing all preliminary and final monthly General Ledgers & Trial Balances before distribution to Finance and Business leaders. *Partnered with Marketing Managers & Directors to help accommodate requirements from Treasury, Controllership, Accounting, Compliance, and other impacted teams. *Created Excel models to support all budgets & forecast with valuation analysis and due diligence of acquisition targets. *Conducted market comparisons and market transaction analysis with supporting metrics. *Experienced with financial/accounting systems. *Supported and created major parts of the annual budget ($300 million in revenue & $100 million in PTI). *Supported and created all quarterly forecasts with 30 Marketing Managers for over 20 Card Services products. *Received corporate recognition (American Express’ rings of reward) for identifying cost reductions, and developing new financial reporting & models that increased the accuracy of Card Services planning & forecasting. *Ensured GAAP compliance and Sarbanes Oxley certifications for existing and new products in development. *Responsible for balance sheet reviews and highlighting high-level reserve adjustments. *Constant performance enhancement and metric creation ad hoc projects for senior management.
