Daily Duties at Ca, Inc.:

Led 10 software QA engineers across U.S. and in the UK. Also managed task and project assignments for team of 20 software QA engineers based in Hyderabad, India. Teamed closely with senior management providing assessments of status of projects. Facilitated goal setting and performance management of direct staff. Approved expenses and capital expenditures, and oversaw hiring and firing of staff. Held final signoff authority for software releases within group before delivery to customer or manufacturing to ensure release met product and quality requirements. Established quality goals for new development and maintenance software releases. Developed QA Plans for software releases, including delegating features and testing areas to staff to create test plans and test cases. Prioritized all software programs by producing risk factor assessments and assigning issues to software development teams. Led change control process, tracking, and validation of new issues created by QA engineers in U.S. and India. Mentored senior QA Engineers on project management skills by assigning them ownership of maintenance and other special projects. Managed all QA project schedules and interfaced with 5 development teams to coordinate timelines for feature delivery with resource availability of QA staff members. Oversaw requirements analysis sessions with QA engineers and developers to extract functional and user requirements from feature specifications prior to start of coding on those features. Reported test results for all QA team activities in daily summaries for QA staff; weekly summaries for development staff; and monthly summaries for senior management. Conducted trending for various development areas and features and identified high risk areas requiring special attention.
