Daily Duties at Credence Systems:
Test, Troubleshoot, and repair printed circuit boards (PCB's) at the bench and in a system. PCB's at the beginning needed to be screened for any hardware failures, later the PCB would be added into a system for calibration and any further troubleshooting. My other duties would be revising or creating documentation or test procedures, to help the Bench Technician area or the Integration area to decrease the total test time, and to keep documentation and procedures current. I was selected by my supervisor to work with the Design Engineers and Software Engineerson on a new 6436 product. I was asked to train on a Kalos Memory System, in Milpitas, California, because they were moving that product line to the Hillsboro, Oregon site. I spent 3 months in Milpitas. At the end of my employment before the layoff, I was expected to learn as many products as possible to extend my employment. I was second to the last to go.
What they like about Credence Systems:
A hiring company that offers alternative approaches to pay, performance bonuses, and/or equity in the firm is very attractive to you. You're generally less interested in working for an organization offering only traditional, salary-based compensation, one with limited opportunity to acquire equity in the firm, or one that does not actively promote skill development. In addition, you are more likely to choose a company that offers a variety of internal career options, with defined career paths. You view the learning of new skills and development of your expertise as key to your career advancement. These aspects of an organization may become even more important to you as you progress in your field, and are especially critical if you change career or occupation.
