Daily Duties at Communciations Satlitte Corp (Comsat):
Facilities Supervisor Position centered on Engineering, Operation, and Maintenance of a $150 million satellite earth station facility, which carries over 45% of all US international communications. Activities focused on O&M of all facility equipment, such as Gas Turbine Generators and UPS Systems. Other duties included Staff Supervision, modifications to existing generation equipment, engineering review of all new station equipment, and new plant start-up. Power Systems Engineer Major activities centered on Engineering of International Communications Facilities and technical equipment acceptance testing totaling approximately $30 million. This involved preparation of project proposals, writing contract SOW's, design & testing of large UPS Systems, interface with outside A&E Firms, and engineering reviews. Major accomplishments included being appointed "Technical Officer" in charge of two, $20 million projects; which were finished On-Time and With-In budget.
