Daily Duties at Ak Steel:

Maintained equipment availability rate by effectively supervising the activities of a daily workforce assigned employees, contractors and vendors. Executed daily operations of maintenance requirements for numerous manufacturing and production processes. Directed all aspects in maintaining utility systems, including electrical, control systems, heating, ventilating, water supply, steam generated and related systems ensuring equipment power supplies are met. Compiled reports for cost effectiveness of completed work, managing budgetary guidelines. Worked with Management and Engineering staff both departmental and corporate on equipment replacement and upgrades. Pro-actively inspected systems to determine preventative maintenance needs, reducing production down time and ensuring equipment availability. Anticipated daily needs and procured tools, equipment and supplies, increasing productivity. Achieved significant improvements in work productivity through training and management of all assigned personnel on new or improved equipment. Instrumental in zero safety violations by enforcing company safety, OSHA and EPA regulations. Supported environmental and safety issues, by designing and installing primary and secondary system for the safe operation of equipment. Responsible for lockout-tryout, special hot-work and confined space permit requirements and safety contacts are made to sure all required documentation is completed correctly.
