Daily Duties at Dc Department Of Transportation:

Responsible for technical and administrative aspect of projects relative to infrastructure and public right of way. Conduct continuing reviews of projects in the planning stages or in operation to ensure the accomplishment of desired objectives. Inspect and oversee all facets of construction to ensure procedures and specifications comply with DDOT guidelines. Examine the quality of finished construction for compliance with DDOT regulations governing construction. Maintain a daily log of construction and inspection activities and analyze progress reports. Inspect existing structures to determine permit compliance and conformity to DC procedures and specifications. Prepare forms, letters, and citations as necessary to bring correction to construction deficiencies. Revisit construction at periodic intervals to verify correction of concerns conversing regularly with constituents, contractors, and federal, state, and local government officials. Research, initiate, and oversee the conduct of comprehensive investigations of complaints regarding the use of public ROW/space. Oversee and perform onsite inspections of various sites to validate compliance with permit conditions, policies, regulations, and governing laws to resolve any public ROW/space issues. Closely coordinate with federal, state and local officials to ensure smooth infrastructure construction operations. Perform emergency services such as Lead Captain for snow removal, debris removal, and transportation security.
