What they like about Car Max:

The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.

Climbers' Joblogs at Car Max:

June 2009

Since 2001, I have served with a Fortune 500 company. However, the company reorganized and my position was eliminated last month. Now I'm off to find my next adventure. I am interested in securing a position in Human Resources which allows me to focus on organizational and associate development. I truly enjoy watching people grow and facilitating group dynamics. It is very empowering for me to see people progress individually and as a group.

In May, I proudly graduated magna cum laude, with a degree in Human Resource Management and a minor in Leadership. It was an exciting time for me and I relished in the accomplishment. During our senior celebration, I received the Jean H. Proffit Student Service award and was surprised when my name was announced. This award is presented to a graduating senior recognized by his/her peers for outstanding service to the University community.

I have had alot of time to think about where I would like to work next. I'm intersted in working in the Virginia beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake or Washington DC area. My interests lie in locating a position in a national retail company or in the aero-space/defense industry.
