Daily Duties at Spx Contech:

Performed value stream mapping analysis of product lines at 4 different facilities. Identified target projects and performed detailed analysis. Projects included WIP capping where min/max levels were established reducing WIP by an average of 2-3 days. Work cell design with capacity issues where job steps were redesigned to balance work among 3 operators, reducing the bottleneck resulted in elimination of most weekend overtime and an easier work pace for the operators. Work cell design with manpower issues where analysis was done on relocating CNC’s and arranging job steps so that 1 operator could operate 2 CNC’s, implementation of this analysis occurred in the Fall of 2004 and has been successful in meeting manpower issues. Analyzed and proposed future state for a job shop operation, used factory flow analysis techniques to optimize routings of high product mix.
