What they like about Homegoods:

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.

Climbers' Joblogs at Homegoods:

Explaining lack of longevity in recent years.

As a retail manager, I have come to view my share of resumes. I realize that a "red" flag pops up when employers see that I have spent only three years with each of my last four employers. I am using this space to help explain some of this. I left Old Navy because my father-in-law had been diagnosed and the East Haven Homegoods store was much closer to home than Westbrook,Ct. Once my father-in-law passed away, I was transferred to Trumbull,Ct. and promoted to store manager. When my ex-wife was diagnosed with Lupus, and then my mother-in-law's health started to fail, I asked to be moved closer to home, but was denied. I decided that being closer to my family was a priority, so I took a position with Target 5 minutes from home. When my marriage faultered, I requested a move to days from the overnight, but was told that the shift I worked was increasingly difficult to staff, and thereby, I would not be able to move.
I chose to leave the company to try and save my marriage. That is when I went to Lowes.
