Daily Duties at Electronic Data Systems:

Project and program manager with EDS’s corporate training organization: * Established and managed Project Office. Staffed projects and tracked allocations for a 400-member resource pool located in multiple US sites, Belgium, the UK, Germany, Italy, Australia, Canada and Mexico. Set project management direction for the organization. * Managed conversion of project management program from lecture style to e-learning. * Provided classroom instruction in project management and SEI-CMM. Project manager and technical lead supporting major financial client (Detroit, MI): * Managed project to convert all Treasury and Cash Control applications from a Tandem mainframe to a client-server environment. Project included installation of third-party software, procurement and installation of new HP 9000 servers, major network changes within the GM-New Center complex, creation of a remote “hot site,” and installation of Sybase software including their replication server. * Managed and performed installation of a new IBM UNIX-based general ledger system for client’s office in Ecuador. * Managed relationship with client’s Canadian head office; managed all projects and production support activities. * Gathered and analyzed information and provided a recommendation for general ledger process improvements as part of a study team for a Detroit area bank. * Participated in quality activities including teaching Quality Internship classes, assessing current processes and reviewing new processes for a CMM Level 2 initiative. * Acted as team and technical leader for 20 software engineers. Information Specialist Senior, GM Dealer Systems (Troy, MI): * Developed software for GM’s Dealer Communication Systems, Tandem-based systems providing administrative messaging, warranty processing, service bulletin locators, and dealer car locator systems. * Managed project to provide prior notification to dealers of vehicles going to auction. Information Specialist Senior, Freeport McMoran Account (New Orleans, LA): * Performed as developer for new IBM mainframe systems created for Freeport McMoran’s agricultural chemical business. Installed and supported Freight Rating, Freight Payables and Railcar Tracking systems. Enhanced Freight Payables system with additional DB2 database to track actual inventory receipt. Assisted in development and maintenance of Materials Management and Gross Margin modules.
