Daily Duties at Central Kitsap School District #401:
Designed, implemented, and administered a large network of 120 Servers, 24 Web Servers, 24 Exchange Servers, and 5000 workstations at various sites through out the School district (Kitsap County), utilizing Windows NT 4.0/2000, Novell 3.X/4.X, Windows 9x, ME, Windows 3.x, all versions of MS-Dos, Ethernet, Thin Ethernet, BNC, FDDI. Responsibilities included the daily administration of the above-mentioned network at all levels. Adding and removing users, security issues, assigning rights, utilization of user profiles and login scripts (VBS and KIX32), managing roving users. Server and workstation upgrades and maintenance. Maintained a WAN/LAN that spanned twenty-four different sites across the Kitsap County utilizing Windows NT Server 4.0/2000, Proxy Server 2.0, MS Exchange Server 5.5, Dell Openview, and MS Point to Point Tunneling Protocol (VPN's). Project included upgrading out dated Wellfleet routers with up to date Cisco routers. Installed and configured all twenty-four sites with no any downtime incurred. Other duties required the arrangement of high-speed communication connectivity in each site. Designed and implemented a new Help Desk system to compensate for the reduction of personnel in the department. Implemented SNMP monitoring using What’s Up Gold and configuring MRTG at all sites.
