Daily Duties at Kaiser Permanente:

Designed, developed, maintained, and supported the KPTN Server application suite deployed across 12 servers supporting 18 Southern California medical centers for uploading transcribed medical reports to KP HealthConnect. Administered and supported Kaiser Permanente Information Technology’s web infrastructure environment consisting of 500+ AIX servers running WebSphere Application Server with IBM’s HTTP Server, and 100+ Windows Servers running Microsoft Internet Information Server. • Integrated ADT feed from KP HealthConnect with the KPTN Server application giving transcriptionists the most current patient demographic data. • Migrated 13 systems from OS/2 desktops and Novell networking to Microsoft NT servers and TCP/IP networking reducing the number of servers needed by 50% and increasing system stability. • Volunteered as WebSphere Application Server and IIS administrator for the Web Infrastructure Engineering Services group, saving the group a full-time employee. • Developed troubleshooting checklist to reduce time-to-restore web infrastructure incidents and achieve 99.99% availability for mission-critical web sites.
