Daily Duties at Computer Associates:

To develop a web-based expense system, this can be used by CA employees on a global basis. Once implemented, users should be able to enter their claims and get approval/rejection of their claims electronically. The system should be intelligent enough to raise warnings (e.g., ‘out-of-policy’ expenses). This will result in faster and more accurate processing of claims with less effort and intervention. At the same time it should provide both line Managers and the Finance Department greater control on the overall expense process. Responsibilities: • Developed the application using Struts framework (MVC). • Coded and tested the controler functionality using Servlet. • Developed UI Screens in JSP, HTML, Java Script, XML, CSS. • Coding and testing of the Java modules. • Wrote SQL queries to retrieve data from INGRES database using JDBC connection. • Eclipse 3.0 IDE is used for coding, running and debuging the application. • Automated build process using ANT Scripts. • JavaMail is used to notify user through mail regarding a particular transction. • Used Java Beans getter and setter methods for storing different parameters. • WebSphere application server was used for deployment of the application. • Involved in Analysis, Design, Development, Integration and Testing of application modules. • Clear Case is used to maintain the versions of System. Environment: Java, Servlet, JSP, JDBC, Java Mail, Java Beans, Struts, HTML, XML, Java Script, CSS, UML, Ant, SQL, INGRES, WebSphere, ClearCase, Eclipse 3.0, Linux.
