Daily Duties at Verizon:

i-CAD (Integrated Common Agent Desktop) is a Verizon’s trouble management web application. When a Verizon’s customer calls for an issue, after voice portal their calls are landed to customer representatives. The customer representative uses this i-CAD web application for managing their troubles. The functionalities like doing a line search, line test, creating a trouble, closing a trouble, dispatching a trouble ticket, activity log, trouble shooting (reset/reboot of settopbox) etc. a customer representative can perform in this i-CAD application. Responsibilities: • For doing line search, creating trouble, closing trouble, wrote vrCon module using Core Java (inheritance, overloading, socket and thread programming). • Apache Axis web service client used for triggering command like reset, initialize settop box. • Parsed the response xml of web service calls using SAX parser. • Wrote various controller functionalities for the application using Spring framework (MVC). • CORBA interface is used for invoking Line Test and receiving results asynchronously. • Used Http URL connection for communicating the isp server. • Developed UI Screens in JSP, HTML, Java Script, XML, CSS. • Used AJAX for sending intermediate http request and receiving response, from client browser to the server side. • Wrote dao, dto for accessing local database (Oracle) using Hiberbate ORM. • For ACD (Automatic Call Distribution) feature, wrote java Applets including JMS, for pushing information from server side to the client browser. • Wrote initialization Servlet for caching application context information. • Implemented ServletContextListener and HttpSessionListener for acheving Applicaiton context and Http session related functionalities. • WebLogic application server is used for production deployment of the application. • Apache tomcat is used in the development cycle of the project. • Automated build process using Ant Scripts. • Eclipse IDE is used for coding, running and debuging the application. • JProbe is used to check memory uses, performance of the whole application. • Used Log4j for logging the application log of the running system to trace the errors and certain automated routine functions. • Agile software development methods used throughout the project life cycle. • CM Synergy is used for configuration management system.
