Daily Duties at Johnson Controls Inc:
Group manager for total vehicle interior integration, design and release activity for a General Motors SUV program, with a large team of engineers, designers and program managers. Responsible for continuous improvement activities on all aspects of current model system integration engineering, including cost reduction ($2.4 mil in savings), warranty reduction ($1.2 mill in savings), quality improvements (7pph improvement), manufacturing process improvements and customer satisfaction improvements. Monthly report out to upper management of progress to system metrics for cost, quality and customer satisfaction. Provide and managed sufficiency plan for achieving corporate goals and requirements set forth in the program metric requirements. Launch manager for two vehicle manufacturing location with on site resident engineers providing full time support of build issues, problem resolution and process verification. Manage all engineering and design related product open issues, including weekly open issues meetings, cost trade-off studies, program plan and communication between engineering team and customer, vendors, contractors, purchasing, and manufacturing (approved over 400 engineering changes). Establish team staffing levels based on budget, travel budget and project support, monitor and report out to upper management the status of plan to budget ($8 million over 4 years).
