Daily Duties at Sealy Mattress:
Create programs that significantly impact the profitability of the Williamsport plant. In this position I function as an internal consultant Providing training, leadership and consultative support to the plant manager and senior area management in Six Sigma and lean programs. I define event goals, set team direction and provide tools and training to ensure the plant has sufficient resources to support each team. I provide training in Lean Six Sigma tools and process. Direct teams and keep team leaders focused on team goals. Train supervisor and team members in managing for daily improvement tools such as Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC), Standard work, Design of Experiments, Defects per million opportunity, Central limit theory and other Lean Six Sigma tools such as Single Minute exchange of dies. During the first year I have lead the CI Program the plant has: • Improved from 17th of 17 plants in hour per piece and scrap to 3rd • Reduced the cost per piece by 75% • Implemented strategic thrust that reduced the turnover rate by 65% and training budget by 70% • Reduced Scrap by 70%
