Daily Duties at Channing Laboratory:

Studied the biological effects group B Streptococcus (GBS) colonization has on human epithelial cells leading to GBS invasive diseases (the study of the microbial pathogenesis of GBS diseases). Solved the tertiary structure of GBS’ alpha C protein (ACP) and identified its function and binding sites to α1β1 integrin and glycoaminoglycans. Information identified ACP as an invasin protein of GBS.
