Computer Operations •Controlled and monitored MVS/JES2 & JES3 and UNIX systems in a large data center •Performed IPL’s and routine maintenance of systems •Performed technical writing functions with the operational procedures update team •Performed problem investigation, escalation and problem reporting •Performed routine system status to ensure systems were working properly •Maintained pro-active communication with customers concerning system integrity •Provided initial investigation, isolation and identification of system abnormalities •Performed job scheduling functions and monitored for successful completion •Opened problem tickets and documented resolutions •Performed scheduling functions for routine processing Tape Library •Mounted, pulled, labeled, and filed tapes •Monitored systems for tape mount requests •Prepared tapes to send to/return from offsite location for secure storage •Prepared tapes to be mailed to customers
