Daily Duties at Bmc Software:
Provide corporate IT support of all aspects of the day to day operations of over 900 unix servers in the operation of the business. Servers supported running Solaris, AIX, Windows, Red Hat Linux. Also support Network Appliance NAS devices as well as EMC Celerra and worked with SAN administrators on provisioning new Clarion storage as required. Responded to server outages and conducted root cause analysis of failures to be reported to management. Developed disaster recovery and business continuance plans for critical systems. Assisted other team members with training and the development of standard processes and best practices in server builds. Performed off hour server upgrades, application upgrades and new server builds as required. Developed system architecture plans and designs as required to support the business needs. Worked closely with database and application administrators on issues, new installs and application integration of acquired companies.
