Daily Duties at Mbia Insurance Corporation :
Responsibilities included product management for aviation and shipping products worldwide, including developing business strategy, marketing to potential clients, evaluating deal inquiries, and underwriting transactions. Focused on Enhanced Equipment Trust Certificate, portfolio securitizations and development of new asset types/structures related to transportation industry. Responsible for creating infrastructure (i.e., product research, limit guidelines, conforming insurance terms to those used in other ABS products, retention of legal counsel with expertise in transportation and developing remediation program, which included the retention of remarketing agent as well as loan facilities to bridge financial requirements during remediation) of the product at MBIA when product group was created in June of 2000. Responsible for all aspects of deal process. • Established new practice area that generated over $120 million in adjusted gross premium over 18 months, and • Billed an incremental $50 million subsequent to my departure as a result of remediation plans established on front-end. Vice President – Commercial Asset Group Member of Commercial Asset-Backed group responsible for insuring collateralized loan obligation transactions, small-ticket equipment lease transactions and emerging asset types. Assumed interim responsibility for small-ticket equipment lease practice. • Restructured $12 billion money market fund of major money-center bank resulting in incremental $4 million of adjusted gross premium with lower risk profile, and • Generated over $7 million in adjusted gross premium in first four months of employment.
