Daily Duties at Cnn Radio:
- Ensures top-level coverage in all news environments for CNN Radio’s 2,200 affiliates and the CNN Radio Network - Sets the organization’s news agenda for the day by assigning stories to correspondents - Endeavors to meet the expectations and needs of all affiliates - Works directly with Newsource correspondents to coordinate story selection and coverage. Organizes day-to-day correspondent workflow and coverage plans - Challenges Newsource correspondents to exercise creativity in story-selection and strives to re-enforce notions on what makes a good story for Newsource - Emphasizes the need for a balance between story advancement and story chasing - Sets expectations for affiliate service levels - Strives to act as a motivator and seeks to instill confidence in all correspondents - Keeps affiliates informed of breaking news, special coverage, and need-to know items through creatively-written emails and notices, as well as proactive phone calls to high-profile clients - Strengthens cross-platform relationships with and exposure on all other major CNN entities - Reaches out to affiliates on a regular basis to build relationships and ensure customer satisfaction - Helps raise brand awareness throughout the company through continuous multi-platform communications and presence building - Key member of the team responsible for guiding CNN Radio personnel into an AP-free newsgathering climate - Led the iReport integration project
