Daily Duties at U. S. Army:
Performed personnel and administrative functions while also working as an executive secretary for a busy supervisor. Advised the commander, staff, and soldiers on personnel matters. Purchased office supplies and forms. Became knowledgeable of the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts. Supervised and performed administrative, clerical, and typing duties. Proofread correspondence for format, content, and use of authorized abbreviations. Answered inquiries from staff and advised personnel on administrative and clerical matters. Set up and maintained logs, rosters, status boards, charts, graphs, and viewgraphs. Composed routine correspondence. Typed military and nonmilitary correspondence. Proofread word processed documents against source documents. Assembled final product for review and authentication. Performed mail clerk duties. Prepared registered and certified mail. Opened, sorted, routed, and delivered incoming correspondence and messages. Dated and dispatched outgoing correspondence and messages. Prepared and maintained functional files per MARKS. Received publications, established and maintained publications library. Requisitioned and stocked blank forms.
