Midwest Girls Collaborative Project is a regional subgroup of the National Girls Collaborative, a partnership with American Association of University Women, the National Science Foundation, and the Puget Sound Center for Teaching, Learning, and Technology. Our goal is to support and encourage STEM projects throughout the state and the nation. These projects are trying to get girls interested in pursuing careers in mathematics and science. We work with school personnel, Girl Scouts, museums, Vocational schools, corporations, AAUW branches, etc who want to broaden the opportunities for girls in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). As a member of the kick-off conference planning committee, I was responsible for dissemination and public relations/marketing for our first conference. I am also one of the reviewers for mini-grant applications for STEM projects.
