Daily Duties at Crawford & Company:
Responsible for handling all Inland Marine and Ocean Marine claims from claims entry, investigation, policy review for compensability to issuing payment and subrogation. Hired into a brand new department as the initial adjuster and to present, the only adjuster. Print and review all Cargo Policies for Carrier Liab, Perils and Goods insured and Deductibles. Set appropriate reserves and investigate claim via interview with shippers and consignees, pictures and written statements. Handle trans-continent losses with the aid of the Warsaw Convention and Montreal Protocol to assist with additional Carrier Liability. Subrogate against carriers for their negligence in handling a package that is lost or damaged on behalf of our shippers.
