U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, MINORITY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AGENCY 1401 Constitution Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20230 • 2004-2005 and 2008 Expert Consultant: Perior of Permance: 2004-2005, 2008, 2009-Present Orchestrated conference activities aimed at improving minority-owned enterprises’ access to entrepreneurial resources and financing. Managed site selection, housing and registration, budgeting, trade shows, committee meetings, vendor’s management, entertainment, and on-site event management functions for annual programs. Major Contributions: • Recognized for leading events team that produced an outstanding National Minority Enterprise Development Week event, the largest federally sponsored activity for minority business enterprises in 2004-2005 and 2008. • Prepared and managed $2.5M budgets, facilitating accounts billing and invoice reconciliation by administering government procurement processes and managing master account lists. • Handled government relations with the White House, United States Department of State, and Congressional Members, along with Ambassadors, dignitaries, and the United States Secretary of Commerce. • Pioneered introduction of exhibition program and awards ceremony that recognized minority business owner achievements nationally. • Launched special educational promotional forum on behalf of prospective entrepreneurs by collaborating with the Small Business Administration and orchestrating seamless delivery of event planning, design, marketing, logistics, and on-site coordination. • Ensured guest speaker and exhibitor readiness for special events: managed communications, collected presenter bios, briefing books were created for keynote speakers, facilitators and panelists assessed audio-visual and security requirements, and arranged travel and lodging. • Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters, financial statements and other documents, using word processing, spreadsheet, database, and/or presentation software. • Handle sensitive information with good judgment and discretion.
