Daily Duties at Kiewit Power/Kiewit Energy:
• Senior Buyer for Cash Creek Coal Gassification Plant, joint venture between Kiewit and Burns/MacDonald. Worked directly with Burns/Mac on drawing submittals, vendor qualification, lead-times and pricing. Tasked with finding suppliers who would be able to provide Engineered Equipment such as slag crushers, 90” butterfly valves, aux boilers, and to date the largest backup generator in the world. Kept meticulous records, RFQ binders and numerous reports, including Procurement Status Report, Kiewit’s key Procurement Project updating mechanism. Worked with both domestic and international suppliers. Saved two hundred thousand dollars alone on freight for this job. • Project Procurement Engineer for Brayton Point Cooling Tower Project, drafting contracts, negotiating pricing/lead-time/warranty/payment terms. Work with engineering on RFQ packets, drawing submittals and vendor proposals. 50 million in engineered equipment/subcontracts. Complex contract negotiations including payment terms, warranty, insurance, bond and freight.
