Daily Duties at Girl Scouts In The Heart Of Pennsylvania:

Supervise a staff of 4 direct and 16 indirect reports to recruit girl members and adult volunteers as well as deliver Girl Scout educational programs to youth in underserved populations. • Managed and developed a staff of 24 including direct and indirect reports. • Led a 9-county region to increase membership by more than 1200 over the prior year, an 11% increase, against a 6.8% council-wide increase, in the first year following council realignment. • Coordinated and implemented a strategic plan for summer short-term program which resulted in over 3900 new Girl Scouts registered, including strategies for retaining members during the school year. • Cultivated relationships in underserved markets resulting in 216 new community partnerships. • Established staff accountabilities and department budgets linked to the organization’s goals and objectives. • Trained staff to understand and implement strategic plans for volunteer and membership recruiting and community development. • Salvaged three poorly managed existing grants totaling $40.5K to ensure activities and objectives were met and expenses were properly recorded and billed. • Referred grant opportunities to Fund Development which resulted in $65.5K in awarded funding. • Assembled collaborative and cross-departmental teams to create an implementation strategy for newly awarded grants; monitored progress to ensure all grant requirements and outcomes were met. • Successfully coordinated an all-staff project to organize and execute a day-long annual celebration with attendance of 1000 guests. • Represented the organization at numerous community events and United Way meetings. • Coordinated Membership Fundamentals training for 33 staff at GSHPA including input into the curriculum for the training. • Selected by GSUSA to serve as a trainer for Membership Fundamentals, a 4-day staff learning opportunity, at the Edith Macy national corporate training center. • Elected as a National Delegate to represent the council at the 2008 Girl Scout National Council Session/51st Convention.
