Daily Duties at Northern Star:
In charge of projects to launch new products and to reduce costs on existing products on the market. Reviewed current food product lines and analyzed all aspects from ingredients to processing to packaging. Researched and tested alternative ingredients to replace expensive ingredients. Sourced and located alternative packaging materials with lower costs. Worked closely with Operations, Quality Control, Marketing and Sales to ensure a coordinated group effort in achieving common goals. Developed and optimized product formulations through plant trials. Conducted Sensory analysis and CLT’s. Initiated and oversaw transfer of technology from new products and scaled up to production. Handled nutritional labeling using Genesis and analytical testing. • Developed Refrigerated French Fries from concept to Production. This product is projected to produce net sales of over $1,500,000 annually. • Developed Refrigerated Vegetable products with Sauces and Refrigerated Soups from concept to near production. • Developed several casserole (oven and microwave) dishes to market. • Saved company thousands of dollars by reducing costs on packaging materials.
