Daily Duties at Whites Residential Facility:

Therapist Intern Provided compassionate and confidential counseling services to children and adolescents living in residential facility; conducted family and group sessions. Performed intake procedures, assessments, and worked with other therapists and psychologists to determine diagnoses and create treatment plans. Listened attentively; offered guidance, support, and feedback. I maintained accurate documentation. I successfully served as counselor, advocate, and role model to children from diverse social, economic, and cultural backgrounds. Worked exceptionally well with a diverse population of children with histories of addiction, abuse, and neglect. Most of my counseling involved children with various diagnoses such as: bipolar, oppositional defiant, schizophrenia, and conduct disorders. Made positive impacts by helping children and families learn how to express feelings, show love and appreciation, and become accountable for their own behavior.
