Daily Duties at Saic:

Prepared RCRA interim status documents (waste analysis plans, contingency plans and inspection plans for existing regulated units at the Idaho Chemical Processing Plant and NDT/NDA (radiography, photography, neutron spectrum and gamma spectroscopy) facilities at the Waste Storage Facility); waste analysis plans included identifying appropriate SW 846 sampling and analytical methods and EPA guidance in support of the RCRA Mixed Waste Implementation Program of EG&G Idaho, Inc. operations at INEEL, ID. Compiling and developing a comprehensive inventory of monitoring wells (both groundwater and vadose zone lysimeters) completion data at the INEEL, ID. Reviewed and commented on: -Water sampling plans and wetlands construction for the East Fork Poplar Creek Operable Unit under CERCLA, Oak Ridge, TN. -Portions of an EIS for the BOMARC Missile Site at McGuire Air Force Base, NJ. Prepared proposed ARARS tables for Fairchild Air Force Base, WA, based on CWA, CAA, AEA, CRA (and equivalent state statute-) driven regulations. Computed potential doses using the computer code RESRAD. Author for sections of NEPA assessments (EIS, EA, FONSI) for: -An Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) at Fort St. Vrain, Platteville, CO; -The Vallecito Nuclear Center, Costa Mesa, CA; the Y 12 uranium processing plant, Oak Ridge, TN; -Experiments at the Tokamak at the Princeton Fusion Research Laboratory, NJ; and -Plutonium power generation for the Ulysses Space Probe, NASA, Cape Kennedy, FL (air dispersion, fate, and dosimetry of plutonium from re-entry accident of SNAP reactor). Developed transportation accident exercise activities for Trupact II shipments in anticipation of WIPP start up. Prepared portions of proposals in support of marketing efforts.
