Project Manager / Senior Civil Engineer Led the engineering design management of pharmaceutical, industrial, and commercial projects. Interfaced with clients to evaluate needs and define project specifications. Prepared engineering proposals, project schedules, and estimates. Obtained bids and construction permits. Liaised with government agencies. Provided litigation support, administrative assistance, and financial oversight. Supervised project engineers. Clients: The Clorox Company, GlaxoSmithKline, Janssen Inc., Johnson & Johnson, Life Scan Inc., Surgical Dynamics Key Projects • Ortho-McNeil Benelux (OMB) (healthcare company): Coordinated the A/E design efforts for company’s powder-handling building, particularly the warehousing and containment of highly explosive powder products. Traveled extensively to corporate headquarters in Belgium for monthly project review meeting. • GlaxoSmithKline (global pharmaceutical company): Served as on-site engineer to assess employee needs pertaining to manufacturing projects. Translated assessment into engineering scopes of work. • Life Scan Inc. (manufacturer of blood-glucose testing strips): Selected new manufacturing sites in San German and Cabo Rojo, and oversaw the conceptual, preliminary, and final designs of these facilities. • Johnson & Johnson (the world’s largest and most diversified medical devices and diagnostics company): Managed the $500K engineering component of a $2 million construction project to close down one facility and open another without any lapse in production of Cidex®.
