Daily Duties at Bell South Information Systems:

• Management of Computer Operations Support Staff including Operations Manager. • Management of Operating/Capital budget • Worked with Production to achieve availability goals while complying with delivery, quality control and integrity for the Real Yellow Pages for BellSouth. • Design/Configure hardware/software from the ground floor up. • BCP for D/R wrote documentation that contained procedures & guidelines to help recover and restore data centers hardware/software at hot-site. • Business Impact Assessment on system down-time and cost of yellow-pages missing printer date. • Specified the system hardware, software and license requirements needed for system restore at SunGard. • Wrote procedures for disk and database restores for system recovery. • Backed up all files, disk and databases needed for system restore and data synchronization at hot-site. • Sent all backup tapes to a vault company on a daily basis for off-site storage. • Worked with vendors on getting temporary licenses for third party software needed for D/R test. • Twice a year D/R plan was tested at SunGard. • Twice a year would have BellSouth switch T1-Circuit from BIS to hot-site for test (SunGard) • After system restore Production personnel tested the system for errors at SunGard. • Trained System Administrator on BIS system recovery and data restore at hot-site. • April 7, 1997 received the BellSouth award for excellence (Database, Raid-5, Conversion). • Interfaced with vendor personnel at both the technical and administrative/marketing levels. • Evaluated and negotiated the purchase of hardware/software. • Responsible for VAX to ALPHA migration strategy. Includes business case development and evaluation. • Manage Alpha Cluster, VAX Cluster, HP/Compaq servers and DECServers. • Upgrade VMS operating system. VMS layered product support. Third party software support. • Perform installation of all layered products. Performance tuning. Performance management. • Provide system analysis and capacity planning. Configuration of Clusters. Removal of Clusters and single & multi nodes from service. • Configured and set up 40 GB raid-set for Yellow Page Database. (DBMS) • Restored DBMS database to new disk configuration • Install and configure SUN Solaris Operating System. (UNIX) • Manage DECnet and TCP/IP (hubs-routers) network. Provide Network Support. • Created capacity planning/performance charts utilizing DEC_PA software and Microsoft excel spread sheet. • Management of all aspects of computer operations on an IBM-4341 DOS/VSE VM system. • Managed/scheduled monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and yearly close-outs of (Inventory, PR, G/L …etc) • Managed Database back-outs and VSAM file rebuilds. • Maintained the integrity and balance of VSAM files. • Managed CICS and 3705 system
