Hired to develop effective strategies, processes, and procedures to turn around an underperforming corporation in a highly challenging, low-margin industry through the development of cost-saving measures, through adept management of routine facilities management functions, and by implementing improved financial and operational controls, processes, and procedures to leverage existing resources and maximize infrastructure and personnel.  Oversee daily facilities management functions for 98 corporate locations. Set goals for department managers, assist in training employees, and approve and guide projects with focus on cost savings and efficiency improvements.  Responsible for developing and administering facility and project budgets, and partner with finance department strategizing on the most efficient use of existing funds, the creation of facility audits and tracking systems to maximize expenses and budgets, as well as identifying open accounts on currently closed locations.  Directly manage new location planning efforts, from site selection through regulatory compliance, code adherence, contractor hiring and management, purchasing and materials management, and quality assurance through on-site visits and troubleshooting.  Key highlights include successfully reorganizing entire Facilities and Construction Department to achieve desired outcomes with minimal cost expenditures, and establishing guidelines allowing landlord financing of new build-outs for a $150,000 cost saving per new location.
