Daily Duties at Maxtor:
Manage material costs of all configurations from inception to the end of life for the server market segment, inclusive of analyzing monthly component cost data, tracking PPV and maintaining a product cost database. Implement an Excel based cost model to generate internal program material costs, forecasts, and annual budgets, along with running multiple cost scenarios for all configurations. Prepare and present summary financial analysis and various ad-hoc requests to all management levels. Manage and support program cost reduction teams with financial summaries and analyses; collaborating with cross-functional site program and commodity managers. Drive and close to plan all aspects of Materials Program Planning for storage product development, including setting up and maintaining program build plan, material supply, supply assurance and ramp. Create and present updates in Program Review meetings, demonstrating proactive plans to resolve critical issues and to meet program objectives. Drive materials issues on a cross functional team consisting of commodity management, engineering, reliability, quality, supplier engineering, and finance to deliver products on time. Plan and implement activities to meet or exceed product schedules.
