Daily Duties at Solunet:

Hunted for a closed deals with large opportunities (national accounts). Hired and managed Regions sales people (5 Sales and 1 SE). Grew 8 state region to $25M/year from $2.5M/year. Started and ran CLEC Sales nationally for Solunet. The CLEC business targeted some of our largest ISP's and built business cases to move toward a go/no-go decision on becoming a CLEC. Hired a CLEC Consultant in my territory who actually did all the Public Utility Commission paperwork and provided a turn-key legal documents. Solunet would then consult on the hardware/software necessary to build the CLEC. This led to larger and larger deals and helped grow the regions business and the company's exposure to CLEC's and Tier 3 providers. I sold Cisco, Juniper, Extreme, Foundry, Lucent, Adtran, Tekelec, Taqua, BreezeCom, Navini, Motorola, and Alvarion.

What they like about Solunet:

Working for a company with an emphasis on social values and helping society is a clear and important priority for you - a critical factor in who you choose to work for. In contrast to other factors, you place an organization's reputation for fairness and concern for the community above most other aspects of the company. As you search for a new job opportunity, it is usually possible to find out if the company is involved in the community and/or if it is addressing problems and issues in society. Pay special attention to non-profit organizations and those specifically involved in social action. Moreover, speaking with current and former employees should enlighten you to perceptions of the fairness of the company's leaders and the treatment of employees.
