Daily Duties at Triumph Aerospace:
I was responsible for the development of new software systems in support of modernization efforts to increase the efficiency of wind tunnel testing operations and data acquisition/analysis. Through my development of new ‘outside-the-box’ software applications, the facility realized a 35% increase in overall efficiency and the work force requirement to run the tunnel was reduced by over 15%. Specifically, I developed and implemented a new model control and data acquisition system, with built-in safety features to prevent catastrophic damage to test articles. Application development was done in several versions of LabView, MATLAB, Visual Basic, Fortran 90, C, C++, and MS Access. I programmed in LabView extensively in this job, working with National Instruments equipment, which I personally researched and purchased, largely for developing and redesigning the flight plan/flight control systems, from UAVs and ballistics, to the latest space craft. I am also very experienced with testing, developing, and designing systems that use data acquisition hardware devices – strain gauges, thermal sensors, load cells and pressure monitors of all kinds, etc…not only under high mach numbers, but at a previous job, under oceanic pressures and conditions as well.
What they like about Triumph Aerospace:
Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
