Perform Quality Assurance/Software Testing on MIPS custom software created for steel manufacturing. Perform code reviews (in Uniface) to ensure compliance with company standards and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements. Responsible for ensuring deliverables are released to customer specifications and quality standards using performance, functional, validation, integration, usability, acceptance and regression testing using manual testing methods in an agile environment. Find, document, report and track bugs, work with development and client for resolutions, retest fixes to ensure defects are resolved. Track status of QA assignments, perform workflow analysis, compile data for reporting results to management. Write, revise and proof technical instructions, user documentation, test plans, test case scenarios and scripts. Developed sql queries or scripts to add, modify or update Oracle database requirements for integration testing. Developed data, installed, configured and replicated production environments to test and eliminate possible user performance issues. Use of persuasive communications skills to recommend process changes and product improvements. Collaborated with staff or customers to evaluate, diagnose problems and recommend possible solutions. Participated in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, and potential problems. Documented software defects and reported defects to software developers using a QA tracking system Accomplishments: • Applied solid understanding of software development life cycle • Developed new QA testing procedures resulting in ensuring minimum standards and requirements are met • Reduced time and helped improve efficiency of developers and users by creating test plan knowledge database • Improved quality and testing practices via recommendations to process changes • Developed standards, methods and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness • Increased client satisfaction by providing feedback and recommendations to developers on software usability and functionality • Established standardized checklists and internal procedures to rectify software inconsistency resulting in improved client satisfaction • Reduced Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) violations by establishing requirement checklists and performing Uniface code reviews Tutored development staff and suggest modifications in code when deviations of standards requirements were found to ensure compliance • Handled multiple priorities simultaneously, meeting deadlines, working independently or as part of a team • Developed knowledge database of test plans and processes to improve interoffice communication, employee efficiency and to assure estimated project time lines were met • Mentored and provided knowledge resources for other coworkers • Lead tester, planned testing schedules, strategies and coordinated user or third party testing in accordance with project scope and delivery dates • Implemented bug prioritization to ensure the most critical customer needs were addressed first
