Daily Duties at Governor's Office, Division Of Economic Opportunity:

Community Services Block Grant Program (Peyton McFarland) • Served as the Deputy Director’s secretary for CSBG program. Coordinated and managed diversified administrative duties with the Community Services Block Grant Program (CSBG) division. • Budget preparation; maintained the Deputy Director’s itinerary, arranged appointments, scheduled meetings, answered telephone and prepared official correspondence for the Director; Periodically attended meetings with the director, as needed; typed reports for three field representatives; typed the CSBG annual manual; Supervised three interns (students) and three part-time clerical workers; Other related duties as required. • Formulated the budget insuring that short and long-range objectives for the department have been met. Liaison person for ordering supplies monthly or aw needed. Daily maintained an accounting ledger of all budget line items detailing items purchased for payment. Developed a tracking system of follow up actions and follow-through. Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (Jessie Caughman) • Served as the Deputy Director’s Secretary for LIHEAP. • Issued more than $1 million dollars in checks to 17 local community action agencies throughout the State of South Carolina to assist citizens with their home heating bills; Maintained filing system for the 17 community action agencies; other related duties as required. • Maintained the Deputy Director’s itinerary, arranged appointments, scheduled meetings, answered telephone and prepared official correspondence for the Director; periodically attended meetings with the director, as needed.
