Daily Duties at Northern Michigan Hospitals:
Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the effectiveness of a complete network topology combining Token Ring, Ethernet and Coax cabling structures. • Managed Novell administrative duties to do adds and changes to employee configurations • Utilized HP technology to create network connectivity for multiple computers and printers. • Created technology inventories for all locations, encompassing desktop software, office equipment, and specialty computers systems. • Coordinated the installation and replacement of all Token Ring topology with Ethernet Cat5 technology. • Coordinated and implemented the installation of new Siemens ROLM call center software. • Conducted Y2K Audits of all network switches and routers ensuring that the latest software updates had been implemented. Tested and documented results. • Assisted in the development of the network integration between Novell Servers, AS400 applications and UNIX servers. Hardware and software: Novell 4.0, GroupWise, Microsoft Office 98, Microsoft Project, Windows 95, 98, NT and 2000. PC Support Specialist 1994 – 1997 Team leader with responsibility for monitoring Helpdesk, Computer Operations and Hardware/Software implementation. • Created daily backup documentation utilized by AS400 operators on a daily basis. • Developed and delivered training on latest technology upgrades and installs to offsite customers • Developed and delivered in-house training on utilization of upgraded Microsoft Office products. • Implemented integration with Hospital Patient Accounts system via network connections with PC’s and AS400. • Coordinated with Network Administrators to ensure that all software was aligned with current standards. • Ensured availability of latest technology through hardware upgrades utilizing Dell PC’s, Multiple printer configurations and IBM Hardware associated with the AS400 • Responsible for maintaining the inventory for all computer components including working directly with the vendor for product replacement under warranty. Hardware and software: Windows for workgroups 3.1, Windows 95, WordPerfect Suite, Microsoft Office, Novell GroupWise, Dell computers and HP peripherals/printers, AS400, Cerner. Telecommunications Technician 1992 – 1994 Responsible for the implementation and continued operations of multiple telecommunication platforms though out the hospital and clinic environments. • Directly involved in the installation of updated switchboard utilizing pc hardware and software replacing outdated transfer station components. • Utilized Siemens ROLM software to track and develop ongoing usage reports for upper management. • Responsible for Moves/Adds/Changes to existing and new hardware components. • Created user accounts including voicemail and call forwarding options. • Actively monitored telecommunications network maintaining a consistent flow of communications. • Worked with vendors to obtain best pricing for both local and long distance billing. Hardware and software: WordPerfect Suite, COI, ProComm, Phone guide, Computer Operator March 1986 – 1992 Monitored the daily operations of multiple systems including but not limited to IBM Systems 38, 3070 Mainframe and AS400. • Responsible for generating nightly financial and patient account reports for distribution to designated departments • Ensured nightly backups were completed and rotated in a timely fashion • Data entry on IBM 3871 to ensure accuracy in data collection from various departments • Instrumental in testing IBM PS2 computers for integration into healthcare system • Setup and configured IBM 3741 displays • Installed and terminated Coax cabling throughout healthcare facility. Hardware and software: AS/400, System 38, IBM 3741, IBM 3871, DOS 3.0 and DOS 3.1
