Daily Duties at Department Of The Navy:
Patient Safety Manager: Overseas and enforce all aspects of patient safety ensuring all guidelines are with compliance with JC/Joint Commission standards, prepare documentation and develop strategies for improvement Manages the Patient Safety Committee of 14 personnel in collecting data which provides the analytical input to provide accurate and complete government record for presentations and briefings. I provide technical expertise and leadership in planning, implementation, evaluation and promotion of the National Patient Safety Goals. Determine performance and submit summary, recommendations and conclusions to the Board of Directors and other command committee's. I have developed, initiate, coordinate, and provide training in patient safety programs. I am a member of the hospital record review and customer service committees which address medical records coding, overall customer service, quality assurance, and utilization review. Keeps current on applicable new technologies partnering with customers to provide the best service to the customer and for the command. I have vast knowledge of and on a daily basis work with regulations governing standards of conduct, conflicts of interest and waste fraud and abuse. I have excellent judgment am a fast learner and posses a vast knowledge of administrative and program principles. Excellent interpersonal with added communication skills. Has full understanding of MEDCOM program and polices. Prepare litigation reports in a timely manner. Prepared training program and test for the Command in patient to ensure full compliance with Joint Commission Standards. Instrumental in updating standard operating procedures for the Quality Management within the patient safety program. closely with command administrative team processing administrative functions and the utilization of analytical data in support of the National Patient Safety Goals in support of the commands mission providing the best health care. Responsible for the development and/or dissemination of program policy guidance, program evaluation and program implementation. Provides GMT (General Military Training) for command staff in related patient safety, and general safety issues. Drafted and wrote four articles that were published by the Guantanamo Bay, Gazette for general population education related to patient safety issues. I work with medical records and ensure the 100% accuracy of monthly record reviews and to make sure the compliance is per Joint Commission guidelines.
