Daily Duties at Gujarat Electricity Board :

• Commissioning of all boiler side Electrical systems & equipments for i.e. BMS / FSSS LOGICS, interlock & protections, HT motors (ID/FD/PA/COAL MILLSS /ASH PLANTS ETC) //LT motors ,MCC's ,breakers, ESP ,Soot blowing system ,valves, dampers ,gates ,plc's etc with all associated equipments • Commissioning of all Electrical & Mechanical systems for the operational activities i.e. Flue gas cycle, air cycle, steam cycle ,water cycle, oil cycle , Electrical systems , switchyard systems etc • Ensure that all plant under control is operated in accordance with good operating practice at all times during commissioning, start up, normal operations & shut down, and in accordance with the instructions of the competent authority to achieve the optimum targeted generation. • Ensuring that plant emissions, do not exceed authorized limits. • Synchronizing and loading of main turbines with due regard to Electrical systems. • Remote switching of 220 KV, 11KV and 6.6 KV systems • Liaising as necessary and instructed by the competent authority with Mechanical, Electrical and instrument maintenance Department and with contractors. • Keeping continuous check of operational state of all plants control from instrumentation and indicators Carrying out routine plants check and tests, maintaining the log books & log sheets, reporting the defects and abnormalities to the authority.. • Taking appropriate action on receipt of alarm and during events of abnormal conditions. • Liaising with out side Electrical distribution agencies with regards to the HV systems • Initiations of emergency service requirements. • Acting as point of contact of other department i.e. security , Emergency services, Weigh bridge etc • Supervision and instruction of plant operator and other staff. • Responsible for monitoring the plant important data affecting the plant performance. • Monitoring the KPI (key performance indicators) of the plant & report any abnormalities to the authorities with remedial measures there of.
