Daily Duties at London Waste Ltd:

OPERATION OF POWER PLANTS SYSTEMS AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENTS i.e BOILERS, TURBINES, GENERATORS, FGT- FLUE GAS TREATMENT PLANTS, DE MIN PLANT ETC • Responsible for monitoring the plant important data affecting the plant performance. • Monitoring the KPI (key performance indicators) of the plant & report any abnormalities to the authorities with Remedial measures there of. • Ensure that all plants are operated in accordance with good operating practice at all times during commissioning, start Up, normal operations & shut down. • Supervision and instruction of plant operator and other staff. • Ensuring that plant emissions, do not exceed authorised limits. • Synchronising and loading of main turbines with due regard to Electrical systems. • Remote switching of 220 KV, 11KV, 6.6 KV and 3.3 KV systems • Liaising as & when necessary with Mechanical .Electrical and instrument maintenance Department and with Contractors & related agencies. • Keeping continuous check of operational state of all plants from instrumentation and indicators –SCADA system • Carrying out routine plants check and tests, maintaining the log books & log sheets, reporting the defects And abnormalities to the duty shift Engineer. • Ensuring that on coming shifts are made fully aware of the operational state of all plant under the control • Taking appropriate action on receipt of alarm and during events of abnormal conditions through SCADA system. • Liaising with out side Electrical distribution agencies with regards to the HV systems • Initiations of emergency service requirements. • Acting as point of contact of other department i.e. security , Emergency services, Weigh bridge • Keeping accurate records of staff attendance and absence reports. • Responsibility for ensuring that any Quality, Safety or Environmental systems, procedures are performed in Accordance with appropriate requirements. • To carry out appropriate training within their area of expertise and also undertake training.
